Pricing
What an API call costs in rupees. Plans, free credits each month, the price of every endpoint, volume steps, AI pricing, GST and how a charge is taken.
You pay per call, in credits. One credit is ₹1 before 18% GST. A call that fails, and a call that succeeds but finds nothing, costs nothing. Test keys cost nothing.
To work out a monthly bill, use the estimator on the pricing page: pick endpoints and volumes and it compares every plan.

The price list is per result: a case, a page, a report, a case-month. The figures above are read from the live price list, so they are never out of date.
#Free credits
- ₹250 of free calls every calendar month (IST), for every live account. No card, no KYC.
- Early builder grant: 1,000 credits for 90 days, for the first 500 accounts on the platform. You need a verified email. If the platform sends SMS, you also verify your phone with an OTP; if it does not, email verification is enough. No PAN, GSTIN or card is needed.
- KYC grant: 500 credits for 90 days, once, when you save the firm's PAN or GSTIN.
- Workspace calls: the first 1,00,000 calls a month are free for each firm. Reads and writes share that one count; see workspace calls.
Grants and the monthly allowance are shown in Firm › Developers, with "% of this month's free ₹250 used". GET /account shows them too, under credits.
#How a charge is taken
Each live call is paid from, in this order:
- The month's allowance: ₹250, plus the credits your API plan includes.
- Grants, the one expiring soonest first.
- The wallet. This is the same prepaid wallet as AI credits and storage in the app, so a top-up there pays for API calls too.
Plan fees are taken from the wallet on the renewal date. If the wallet is short, the account moves to the Free plan and the firm gets an Inbox item. Enterprise accounts can have a postpaid limit.
Before expensive work the API checks that the call can be paid for. If it cannot, you get 402 insufficient_credits and nothing runs. If the call would take the day's spend over your tier's limit you get 402 daily_spend_cap. See errors and rate limits.
#Volume steps
Some prices drop as you use more in the month. The steps are graduated, per endpoint: the first calls of the month cost the list price, and only the calls after a threshold cost the lower price. A plan's discount, if any, comes off the result.
Example: court.case.detail is ₹1, then ₹0.70 from 1,00,000 a month. Your 1,00,001st case detail in a month costs less; the first 1,00,000 still cost the list price.
#Reading a case
A plain GET /cases/{cnr} always costs ₹1, even when we have to read the court's portal to answer it. Add ?fresh=true to make us read the portal now, and it costs ₹2.50. If the portal is down, a plain call answers from the stored record with "stale": true and still costs ₹1. If nothing is stored, you get 503 upstream_unavailable (code portal_unavailable) and pay nothing. AOS-Credits-Charged tells you which price applied. See court data.
#AI endpoints
An endpoint that runs AI (the ai.* ids) is paid one of two ways, and which one depends on the firm, not on the call.
- A firm on a paid Advocate OS seat plan pays the wallet rate. That is what the AI cost us plus 25%, the same rate the app charges for AI. This is the plan the firm has for Advocate OS itself, not an API plan. A big record costs in proportion to the work. If we can answer from something already stored, such as an order summary that exists, the AI cost is nothing and so is the charge.
- Everyone else pays the listed price per result: per page, per answer or per draft, from the price list above, whatever the AI cost us.
Two further ways to pay less on the listed price:
- Batch (
"mode": "batch"): the call always runs in the background as a job, for 50% of the list price. OnlyPOST /records/readtakes it. - Your own model key: if the firm has added its own key in the app, the call costs 40% of the list price.
Batch and your own key do not stack: the lower price applies. A job is charged when it completes, for the pages it actually processed; a failed job is free. See intelligence.
#Reports and watches
A report is charged when it completes, whether or not it found any case: a check that searched the courts and found nothing is still a finished check. A report that fails is free. A watch is charged for the month it is created in and again on the 1st of each month it is active; deleting a watch stops future months but does not refund the current one. See reports and monitoring.
#Reading what a call cost
AOS-Credits-Chargedon every response: the credits taken for that call (0for test keys and for anything free).GET /usage?from=&to=&group=endpoint|day|requestfor the totals, free. See authentication.- Firm › Developers shows usage in rupees, with the request log of your last 100 calls.
#What is always free
Account and usage, listing a case's orders, GET /courts, GET /case-types, GET /holidays, GET /limitation/rules, GET /drafts/blueprints, GET /jobs/{id}, fetching a report or its PDF, watches (listing and deleting), webhook endpoints, the event log, and everything in the sandbox.
#GST
Credits are sold at ₹1 before GST. GST at 18% is added when you top up the wallet, as it is for AI credits in the app, and the platform's tax invoice shows it. Every price on this page is before GST.
#Workspace calls
Reading your own firm's matters, hearings, deadlines and tasks costs ₹0, then ₹0.02 from 1,00,000 a month a call; adding a task or a note costs ₹0, then ₹0.10 from 1,00,000 a month. In plain words: each firm gets 1,00,000 free calls a month, and reads and writes count together toward that one number. Test keys cost nothing. See workspace.
