Changelog

What changed in the Advocate OS API, by dated version. The first release is 2026-12-01. Read this before you change your AOS-Version.

Versions are dates. Your account is pinned to the version current when you made your first key; see versioning. New endpoints and new fields are added without a new version. A change that could break your code gets a new dated version and an entry here.

#2026-12-01

The first release of the developer platform.

API

  • Court data: search cases, read a case (cached, or fresh from the court), list and read orders, read cause lists, match CNRs to a cause list, search and read tribunal orders, court fee, courts, case types and holidays.
  • Research and law: search and read judgments by paragraph, the citator, citation checks, bare act sections, IPC to BNS mapping, limitation rules and calculation.
  • Reports: litigation check and due diligence, with a PDF that carries a verify QR.
  • Monitoring: watches on a case or a person; events case.updated, case.next_date_changed, case.disposed, order.published, causelist.listed and party.new_case.
  • Webhooks with signed deliveries (AOS-Signature), retries and an event log. Event types: case.updated, case.next_date_changed, case.disposed, order.published, causelist.listed, party.new_case, report.completed, report.failed, job.completed, job.failed and webhook.test.
  • Intelligence: OCR, record read and digest, order summary, translation, research answers and drafts. Large files, digests, file translations and batch calls run as jobs (GET /jobs/{id}), with a batch mode on POST /records/read.
  • Workspace: your firm's matters, hearings, deadlines, tasks, documents and drafts, and adding tasks and notes.
  • Account and usage endpoints.

Platform

  • Test and live keys, and scopes.
  • The Sandbox High Court, six test CNRs, the AOS-Sandbox-Date header, sandbox reset and sandbox events.
  • Prices in rupees, per call, with volume steps. ₹250 of free calls every month for every live account, an early builder grant (₹1,000 for 90 days, first 500 accounts), a KYC grant (₹500 for 90 days) and 1,00,000 free workspace calls a month for each firm.
  • A plain GET /cases/{cnr} always costs the same; ?fresh=true costs more. Firms on a paid seat plan pay for AI at the wallet rate (cost plus 25%); everyone else pays the listed price.
  • Protected categories are masked, and takedown and masking requests are handled within 72 hours.
  • Trust tiers T0 to T3 with request and spend limits, and RateLimit-* headers.
  • Errors with a stable code and a doc_url.
  • Idempotency keys on POST requests.

Tools

  • SDKs for TypeScript, Python and PHP; the aos command line; an MCP server; an OpenAPI document; llms.txt and Markdown versions of these docs.

#How we announce changes

A new dated version appears here with three parts: what changed, why, and how to move. Anything we plan to remove is marked deprecated here first, and a version you are pinned to keeps working.
